FUA-500 Full Follow Up Control Amplifier

July 21st, 2009

FuseBoxClosedFuseBoxOpen

The FUA-500 is a full follow-up control amplifier incorporating the latest in solid state technology. There are no moving parts to wear out. The idea behind this is less maintenance and many years of trouble free operations.

This amplifier works in conjunction with a rudder command input provided from either a tiller type input such as our FFU-200 or a helm type input provided from our E.F.U.H.U. (Electric follow-up helm unit). A feedback signal is provided by our RFB-300 or RFB-3000 (Rudder feedback units) connected directly to the rudder tiller arm. The amplifier takes input information and amplifies it to a signal acceptable by an electric solenoid operated control valve which directs oil flow to the hydraulic steering cylinders that move the rudders. The rudder feedback sends information to the amplifier letting it know when the rudders are in the proper position to satisfy rudder command input, at this point the rudders are stopped and held stationary until rudder command input in wheelhouse is moved to a new position.
